The firm

One attorney reads your file. The same one argues it.

Michael C. Meribe, P.C. is a highly responsive personal injury firm in East Orange, New Jersey, with more than twenty-five years of practice behind every file it takes. We answer the phone, we return calls, and we tell you where your matter stands without being chased for it.

Michael Meribe has practiced law since 1997 and opened this firm in 2000. He began at Clarence Barry-Austin, defending insurance companies against the kinds of claims he now brings — which means he knows how an adjuster values a file, what the other side looks for, and where it gives ground. A paralegal supports the practice, but one attorney reads your file and the same one argues it.

Vol. I

Personal injury

Most of what we do. Collisions on the road, and injuries from a fall on someone else's property. We put the insurers and the adverse parties on notice the day we take the case, so the claim is moving while the evidence is still fresh.

  • Car, truck and pedestrian collisions
  • Slip, trip and fall

Working with us

Four steps, in order.

  1. Vol. I

    You fill out the form

Five minutes, on your phone. Tell us what happened and how to reach you.

Go to the client intake form →
  2. Vol. II

We put the other side on notice

We contact the insurance companies, the adverse parties and their lawyers to tell them you are represented.

  3. Vol. III

    We call you back

Every new client hears from this office within 24 hours. Not a voicemail — a conversation.

  4. Vol. IV

    You get it in writing

A written agreement of representation, and copies of the initial letters sent on your behalf.

About fees

The first consultation costs nothing. Personal injury and workers compensation matters are taken on a contingency fee — no legal fee unless we recover for you. Costs and expenses are separate from the fee, and we go through them with you before you sign anything.

New clients

Client intake form.

Tell us what happened and how to reach you. It takes about five minutes and it goes straight to the firm — an attorney reads every submission before anyone calls you back.

Printing your name

The last question asks you to print your full name. That printed name is your acknowledgment of the retainer agreement. Nothing is owed until the firm has reviewed your matter and confirmed it in writing.
